10 May 1937 - 17 December 2009
May you be at peace now
She was diagnosed with Colon cancer. I received
a phone call from my brother at 3 in the morning on November 6th 2009
telling me that mom was just picked up by ambulance and brought to the
hospital for Colon Cancer. It took another two days before I got a hold of
my sister and who gave me more detailed info and a phone number to my mom.
From than on I spoke to her on a weekly basis. She told me that she was
scared of the unknown. She would get chemo and radiation every day. After 2
weeks they stopped it, because my mom could not handle it anymore. She told
the Dr. and me that she should be getting better not worse. I spoke to her
for the last time on Sunday the 13th of December where she informed me that
she could not talk anymore or hold the phone. She said good by and hung up.
I tried to go home since the first Phone call I got, but our passports where
expired. Before she hung up I told her that I was on my way that I got the
passports. I got a flight out for the 22 of December, I picked up my tickets
on the 15th of December. When I got home I had a phone call from my brother
to come home asap. I called the travel agent and asked to switch the tickets
to asap. She was able to switch them to December 17th I flew out at 7 am
around 10:30 I was crying thinking of mom and praying, telling her to let go
if she is suffering that I do not want her to suffer, it is ok to let go, I
am on my way, I gave her messages from my hubby and the girls. When I got to
Berlin I found out that she past at 6:30 pm which was 10:30 am my time. My
sister and my Brother where always with my mom. Sabine was with her during
the last moments, Thank you Sis. I was able to get a viewing so I can say
good by and we had the funeral before I left as well. Thank you Mom for a
great life and all your teaching. You made me who I am today.
Mom loved the yard and the plants with in the yard
and the house.
She was a very loving and help full person.
She always put
family, friends first and
herself last.
We miss you, Mom. But I know you are home and I will see you again, when my
time comes.

zeit kommt.
